Gallery Weekend – Berlin

The annual Gallery Weekend Berlin -. “50 GALLERIES, 50 OPENINGS. THREE DAYS, THREE NIGHTS”

… is taking place as usual the last weekend of April, right before the annual, ritualized showdown between the extreme left and the forces of law & order.

As usual people will spend the next few evenings and nights dividing their attention between some world-class art and the whole street spectacle which really has become an almost public event with people inviting friends over to the best spots  pick-nick tables and all…

Artists exhibited include heavy hitters such as: Andy Warhol, Diane Arbus, Julian Schnabel, Jenny Holzer just to mention the most recognizable names…

Jüdische Mädchenschule: CAMERA WORK

Renowned gallery CAMERA WORK is opening up their 2nd. space in Berlin’s trendy and gallery dense Mitte district. Housed in the former Jewsh Girlschool (Jüdische Mädchenschule) together with fellow gallersits like Michael Fuchs gallery, Eigen + Art as well as prominent restaurateurs Jessica Paul, Stephan Landwehr and Boris Radczun, the team behind the Grill Royal plus Michael Zehden this chic new addition to Berlins art-scene adds some polish to an otherwise street centric narrative.

“On the first floor, on over 400 square meters, Camera Work shows contemporary works of photography, painting or sculpture. The four former classrooms provide special opportunities for extensive retrospectives, conceptual group exhibitions and collaborations with private collections or institutions.”
